New Life Missions Nigeria Report February 2001 Newsletter
Contents:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our numerous partners for their gracious and generous support this last year. Your support has yielded a hundred fold in our missions. The old saying, “Seeing is believing!” is really true. In many ways, what you see and hear in this newsletter will encourage you and even motivate you to continue to support your Sister Church in Africa. There were 62 meetings of all types held last year in Nigeria. There were six crusades held, with two new churches being established. The Deborah International Women’s Fellowship (Debi-Fee) was started with ten women’s conferences being held. We visited in 32 churches, seven secondary schools, two primary schools and three nursery schools. In the churches, 3200 new believers made first time decisions for Christ. The two new churches were each registering about 86 on Sundays. The school visits yielded a harvest of 2800 souls for Jesus. The Deborah International Women’s Fellowship (Debi-Fee) is growing stronger in Africa. We have received invitations to come and establish Debi-Fee chapters in three new countries in Africa: Kenya, Togo and Ghana. The Deborah Fellowship fed 300 families in December. Deborah International
Women's Fellowship: This established another landmark in the work of New Life Missions in northern California. Thirty-six women, representing churches across northern California, met together for a time of refreshing at the feet of the Master. We had six speakers at the summit, and every one of them spoke as an oracle of God.
Widows and their families are provided for at the Debi-Fee conferences. At the conclusion of the conference, each woman in need is provided food for her family. Because most of the women who come must walk several miles, the food packages have to be kept small. Each package is made up for a family of 5, with adjustments for actual numbers as needed. Items included: rice, beans, flour, canned or powdered milk (powdered is preferred due to weight), canned meat, sugar and Ovaltine. The Ovaltine is the primary source of vitamins. It is mixed with water and a little sugar, no milk, and served in a common bowl for the family to dip bread in so all get a little portion for the vitamins. Cost per package: $25-30. Weight: approximately 40-50 pounds Remember to pray for new church construction in Nigeria. As each new congregation is established, a meeting place must be provided. It is preferred to be in a new building owned by the local church, after the Mission sponsors construction. We are still waiting on the Lord for the funds for the land in the capital city, Anambra, for a mission headquarters site.
