Our Statement of Faith

Graphic line

THE BIBLE:

We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and our standard for faith, practice, and revelation. ( 2nd Timothy 3:16-17 ; 1st Corinthians 2:13; 2nd Peter 1:20-21)

THE GODHEAD:

We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and that these Three are One God in essence, nature, attributes, perfection, and are worthy of the same homage and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19)

JESUS CHRIST:

We believe in the pre-existence, the incarnation and the virgin birth of Christ, who came into the world to reveal the Father. Christ lived a sinless life and died substitutionally for man's transgressions. (Isaiah 53:1-4, 7:14; Hebrews 1:3)

THE HOLY SPIRIT:

We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Godhead and dwells in every true born-again believer, and that He imparts gifts or abilities greater than our own to accomplish God's will.  (Genesis 1:2; 1st Corinthians 2:10; John 14:16; Acts 13:2; Hebrews 13:8)

SIN:

We believe that man and woman were created in the image of God and that through disobedience mankind fell from a state of righteousness and holiness in God, in which he was created, into spiritual depravity. Through willful sin, mankind is separated from God and unable to attain divine righteousness and communion with God through his own efforts. Therefore, man must be redeemed from sin. (Genesis 3:6-23; Romans 3:23, 5:12-14; Psalms 51:5; Isaiah 59:1-3).

SALVATION:

We believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all mankind, and only those who believe and receive Jesus Christ are born of the Holy Spirit, and thus become the children of God. (Romans 3:23; John 1:12-18; Acts 16:31)

THE CHURCH:

We believe that God wants to reveal His nature and purpose through His Church. Christ came and established His Church as His body on earth. (Acts 8:1, 11:22, 16:5; 1st Corinthians.11: 18; Ephesians 5:25; Galatians 3:28; Acts 1:5).

CHRIST'S RETURN:

We believe that Christ will return to the earth in a visible way. His purpose will be to manifest His government on the earth. We believe that Christians should lovingly look for His appearing, giving attention to obedience while He tarries. (1st Thessalonians 4:17-18; John 14:1-14; 1st Corinthians 15:51-57; Daniel 6:16-17)

2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.

7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

Mark 16:15-20

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

Genesis 3:6-23

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.
9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?
10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself.
11 And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
13 And the LORD God said unto the woman, What is this that thou hast done? And the woman said, The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat.
14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;
18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;
19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
20 And Adam called his wife's name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.
21 Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:
23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

Romans 3:23, 5:12-14

3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

John 1:12; 16, 18, 36, 12:44

1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.
18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
12 For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him.
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

Titus 2:7-15

7 In all things showing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
10 Not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

1st Timothy 2:1-3

1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

1st Thessalonians 4:17-18

John 14:1-4

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

1st Corinthians 15:51-57

51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

Daniel 6:16-17

16 Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

1st Corinthians 3:9-15

9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.
12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;
13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.
14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.
15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.  (return to Doctrinal Statements)
